GOOD NEWS - ETERNAL LIFE - HEAVEN

You can rescued from the judgment of God by simply receiving God’s free gift of eternal life though Jesus. (Romans 6:23).

1.    One Truine God:

 “There is one eternal God” (Mark 12:29, 12:32; James 2:19; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 40:28, 43:10, 44:6, 45.6; Psalms 90:2).

This one God exists as three divine persons: The “Father…the Son (Jesus), and …the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7; Isaiah 6:8).

2. God created the universe, Earth, all life and humankind:

“[T]he living God…made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:” (Acts 14:15, 17:24-28; Genesis 1; Isaiah 45:18; Jeremiah 32:17; Revelation 14:7)

Creation evidences a Creator (See Romans 1:19-20).

“The heavens declare the glory of God…” (Psalms 19:1)

“God created man in his own image…male and female…” (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6).

3. All people have having violated God’s standards of conduct.

“…all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; 1 John 1:10; See also Romans 3:10-19).

"Sinned" means "missed the target."

Examples: Lies, dishonesty, cheating, jealousy, created strife / discord, bad temper, arrogant, defensive, impure or immoral atttitudes or acts, foul language, corruption, harming others, etc. (See Romans 1:29-32, 3:10-19; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:5; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Matthew 5:28, 15:18-19).

4.  "The wages of sin is death..." [Romans 6:23]

"Death" means "separation."

Our sins separate us from God (Isaiah 59:2).  No amount of good works are sufficient to pay our debt of sin (Isaiah 64:6; Haggai 2:12-14; Luke 18:10-14; Romans 3:20, 3:7-28, 4:5; Galatians 3:10-11, 21).  God, who is infinitely holy and just, must punish our sin (Ephesians 5:6; Romans 1:18), and humankind must eternally pay for such sin (Romans 6:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:12, 15).

5.  "But the GIFT of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." [Romans 6:23]

The good news (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) is that God loves mankind and have made divine provision to escape His eternal judgment (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 1 John 3:16).

God-Man: The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God (John 1:1, 1:14, 8:24, 8:58-59, 10:30, John 28:20; Hebrews 1:7-8; Titus 2:13), is called the "Son of God" (46 times in the New Testament, e.g. Matthew 14:33; Mark 1:1; Luke 1:35; John 1:34, 10:36; Hebrews 4:14) .  But He is also called "the son of man" (84 times in the New Testament, e.g., Matthew 9:6, 12:8, 13:41, 18:11;), and, thus, through the miraculous incarnation by virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:27-35; Philippians 2:6-7) , Jesus is both fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14; 1 Timothy 3:16; Philippians 2:6-8; 1 Timothy 2.5).   He thereby became our kinsman redeemer (that is, one who pays off a relative's debt) (Leviticus 25:25-26, 48-49; Ruth 2:20, 4:1-14; Acts 20:28; Ephesians 1:7, 1:14; Hebrews 2:14-16).

Redemptive Work: Jesus lived a holy and sinless life (Matthew 3:17; 2 Corinthians 5: 21; Hebrews 4:15, 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:5), and performed many miracles (Acts 10:38; John 21:25). Although He was declared innocent (John 18:38, 19:4; Matthew 27:4; Luke 23:39-42, 47), God took all the sins of mankind and placed (imputed) them on Jesus Christ (Isaiah 53:6; 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24).

God punished Jesus for our sins [who suffered, shed His blood, and died on the cross for us] (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 27:46; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 1 Timothy 2:6; Titus 2:14; Hebrews 10:19, 13:12; 1 Peter 2:21, 3:18; Matthew 26:28; Romans 3:25; Ephesians 1:7).  Such punishment fully paid our sin debt and, thus, satisfied God’s justice (Isaiah 53:11; John 19:30; Colossians 2:14; Romans 3:25, 1 John 2:2, 4:10).

Then He bodily rose from the dead the third day (1 Corinthians 15:4; Matthew 28; Mark 15; Luke 24; John 20–21).  He ascended to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Luke 24:51; Acts 1:1-12; 1 Tim 3:16; 1 Peter 3:21-22).

6.   How to be saved and go to heaven when you die:

If you acknowledge that you are a guilty sinner (1 John 1:8-10; Luke 18:13-14; 1 Timothy 1:15), and believe / trust in the crucified and risen Lord Jesus as YOUR Savior, you become eternally saved.  (John 1:12, 3:15, 3:16, 3:18, 3:36, 5:24, 6:40, 6:47; Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 3:24, 4:24-25, 10:9).

Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation (John 3:36, 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 John 2:23, 5:11-12; 2 John 1:9).

7.    FREE Gift:    God offers eternal life salvation as a “free gift.” (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5) Thus, salvation can never be obtained or maintained by any amount of good works or religious activities.  One can never earn salvation  (Romans 3:28, 4:4; Galatians 2:21, 5:4).

Salvation is either something you earn or a free gift received.  It cannot be both (Romans 11:6)

"And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely."  Revelation 22:17 [Revelation 21:6; Romans 3:24; 1 Corinthians 2:12]

8.    Benefits: [Psalms 68:19, 103:1-5]  A saved person experiences forgiveness and cleansing (Ephesians 1:7, 4:32; Colossians 1:14, 3:13; 1 John 1:7, 1:9, 4:10) of all past and future sins (Colossians 2:13; 1 John 2:2, 2:12).  The perfect righteousness of Christ is credited to his or her spiritual account (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Such person becomes a child of God (Romans 8:15-16; 1 John 3:1-2, 4:13) and, by faith, has standing to freely communicate with God 24/7(Romans 5:2; 2 Corinthians 1:24).

He or she has eternal life (John 3:15-16, 3:36, 4:14, 5:24, 6:47).

A child of God can further experience an abundant Spirit-filled life (John 10:10b; John 7:38; Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 14:17, 15:13).
