WHAT IDENTIFICATION MUST I BRING TO THE MEETING OF CREDITORS?
The U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee requires that each individual debtor must provide to the trustee at the meeting of creditors original (1) picture identification (ID) and (2) proof of Social Security Number.
Failure to do so may result in the U.S. Trustee bringing a motion to dismiss the case.
The following forms of ID permitted and allowed include:
1. Original Picture Identification:Valid state driver's license;
Government or state-issued picture ID;
Student ID;
Military ID; or
U.S. Passport or legal resident alien card.
AND
2. Original Proof of Social Security Number (SSN):
Social Security Card;
Current W-2 (SSN) form;
Pay stub (Earnings Statement from employer);
IRS Form 1099;
Social Security Administration Report; or
Other official document which indicates name and SSN.
